As you walk into the transept you will note on the south wall, the coat of arms of the Most Reverend J. Kevin Boland, D.D., the thirteenth Bishop of the Diocese of Savannah.
The Translation of the Latin motto reads:
The coat of arms on the north transept belongs to His Holiness, Pope John Paul II. Both were installed during the restoration of 1999-2000.
