Council of Catholic Women
The mission of the Council of Catholic Women is to provide outreach services in the church, community, nation and internationally for those in need; provide a sense of community and family to parishioners of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist as well as the fellowship of sisterhood for its members.
Parish Life Committee
The purpose of the Parish Life Committee is to provide opportunities to strengthen the parish community through engaging social events. The committee provides opportunities for parish social activities such as the annual Stewardship Parish Picnic, Parish Suppers, Sunday Coffee and Doughnuts and other church events.
Cathedral Book Club
If you like to read great spiritual books please join our informal discussion group. Our goal is to increase our understanding of the Catholic faith so we can better incorporate it into our daily lives. We meet in a spirit of faith, fun and fellowship.
The Cathedral Nursery is open every Sunday for the 10:00 a.m. Mass and occasionally for some special events to provide care for infants and children through age four so that their parents and fellow parishioners may experience Mass more peacefully and without distraction. We are always in need of more volunteers.
Children’s Religious Education
Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) instruction of children in the Catholic Faith, kindergarten through eighth grade, who do not attend Catholic school, takes place once a week during the school year. The children are prepared to receive the sacraments of Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. The Cathedral CCD meets on Sunday mornings.
Eucharistic Adoration is available at the Cathedral for those who would like to spend time in quiet prayer with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Chapel hours are 8 AM and 5 PM from Tuesday through Thursday each week. Come and see what a blessing it is to visit with our Lord and Savior for an hour each week in our private chapel. For the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the sacrament will be exposed on the Blessed Sacrament altar in the church for public adoration on Fridays.
